Chehaw has a world of opportunity waiting for you! Volunteers play an integral role in providing an exciting and educational experience for visitors to the Park and Zoo. Whether you wish to share your passion for wildlife conservation with the public, assist with special events, or help out in a more behind-the-scenes capacity, we are sure to find the perfect niche to utilize your talents and time to enhance our guest experience. Now is the perfect time to join the Chehaw team. If you are interested in joining the program, please e-mail your contact information to the Education Curator, Ashleigh, at This email address is being protected from spambots. Chehaw also has a program for those younger than 18 years of age who wish to volunteer. Junior Zookeepers are youth volunteers (13-17 years old) who are interested in volunteering as camp counselors, exhibit hosts, and animal care volunteers. This program is especially great for teens who are not only interested in animals, but those who may be interested in a career in Education. Junior Zookeepers will also participate in a short interview with a member of the Education Staff. Accepted applicants will be expected to attend these mandatory training dates, unless previously excused by Education staff.
